Short Bio
Amir Zainorin is a visual artist and curator working between Malaysia and Denmark. His interdisciplinary practice explores identity, displacement, and belonging through installations, objects, and participatory works that engage cultural memory and systems of classification.
Zainorin is the founding figure behind the artist collective Jambatan-Stateless Mind collective and has curated numerous international exhibitions, including projects associated with the Venice Biennale. His work has been presented at institutions including the National Art Gallery Malaysia, Overgaden Institute of Contemporary Art in Copenhagen, Museum of Contemporary Art Roskilde, the Immigrant Museum of Denmark, and the Museo della Mura, Italy.
He has received grants from the Danish Arts Foundation, Goethe-Institut, Nordic Culture Fund, National Art Gallery Malaysia, and CENDANA. His works are held in the permanent collections of the National Art Gallery Malaysia and the Immigrant Museum Denmark.
He is the initiator of the Stateless Mind Pavilion, a platform for artistic dialogue exploring identity, migration, and transnational cultural perspectives.
